After 13 years of coaching, these are the nutrition myths I still hear every single week...

If you still believe one of these...

It could be slowing your progress.

Myth #1: "Carbs make you fat."

Truth:

Carbohydrates don't automatically cause fat gain. Eating more calories than your body needs over time does.

Whole-food carbs like:

Potatoes

Rice

Oats

Fruit

Help fuel your workouts and support recovery.

Myth #2: "I shouldn't eat after 7 p.m."

Truth:

Your body doesn't suddenly start storing fat because the clock says 7:01. Your total nutrition across the day matters far more than the exact time you eat.

Myth #3: "Skipping meals helps me lose weight."

Truth:

For many women...Skipping breakfast or lunch leads to extreme hunger later and that's when the evening cravings and overeating begin.

A consistent eating routine is usually much easier to maintain.

Myth #4: "I need to detox."

Truth:

Your liver and kidneys already do that job. Instead, focus on what actually works:

Protein

Fruit and vegetables

Fibre

Water

Sleep

Myth #5: "Healthy food means unlimited portions."

Truth:

Foods like:

Avocado

Nuts

Granola

Smoothies

Are nutritious...But they still contain calories. If fat loss is your goal, portion sizes still matter.
